The planning and design scale of the Xinpu Campus of Zunyi Medical College is to accommodate 20,000 full-time undergraduate students, with a total planned land area of 1,780 mu and a long-term development land area of 182 mu. The project is implemented in two steps. The first step is to complete the preliminary preparation work, land acquisition and relocation and ground leveling work in 2011 and start construction, and to accommodate 5,000 to 8,000 full-time undergraduate students in 2012; the second step is to basically complete the construction of the new campus from 2013 to 2016, and then accommodate 12,000 to 15,000 full-time undergraduate students. The total investment of the project is RMB 2.53 billion. The construction of the Xinpu Campus is a need to solve the serious shortage of land area of the school; it is a need for the development of higher education in the country, province and city; it is a need for the school to achieve good and fast, better and faster development.
